Here are a few of the milestones and other things Liam is doing these days!
- Crawling! Liam started this around 7 1/2 months old. He did what we called "the worm" and moved into the army crawl. Now that he knows he can move he loves doing it! Following us from room to room.
- Sitting up on his own! Apparently, he has been doing this at school for a while now, but they didn't want to tell me. They try to let me discover all of his new tricks and milestones on my own since they are usually the ones who see it first. So one night when he did it 3 times in a row, like a pro, I KNEW he had to be doing this at school too. Sure enough, he was! But it's nice of them to try and keep it a surprise for us!
- He is also learning when we leave the room or when he is alone...and he doesn't like it! They call it "object permanence" and they say it happens right around the 8 month mark. He has become a little fussier and a little clingy, and everything I read says this is why. The teachers at school said they have to take turns holding him all day because he will follow them around and whine when they walk away :)
- We upgraded to the big boy car seat, no more infant seat! It seems crazy that you spend so much money on a seat that only lasted us about 8 months! And honestly, we probably could have switched him a month ago, he really out grew it quicker than we thought he would.
- Trey has officially named Liam a "mama's boy". If I put Liam down, walk away, or someone else is holding him - he keeps his eye on me as long as he can and will sometimes cry or whine when I walk away. Then the second I take him, he is happy! I am sorta loving this :)
- Liam's favorite new past time is taking his socks off. Every single time he is in the car seat, it's one of the first things he does. It makes him so happy for some reason! It's pretty cute. The teachers told me he goes around taking the other babies socks off too!
We also suffered a little reflux issue this month. The GI doctor said that he should start to outgrow all of the reflux stuff around the time he can sit up. So once he started crawling, he decided to start trying to wean him off the medicine. It was a total fail - after a week I felt like we were back to square one. Throwing up multiple times a day, choking, gagging, school concerned...ugh. It was awful! I thought it would never end - and then one day, he stopped and we are going on almost a week without throwing up. Thank goodness!!

Here are a few pics from month 8!
We finally made it to Lubbock to celebrate Christmas with my family!
As you can see he REALLY loves his thumb...
One good thing about him not feeling well is all he wants is me and for me to hold him! We sat like this for a good part of that week :)
