So many people told me this before and after having a baby - but 8-9 months has been such a FUN age! Liam is so happy, pretty laid back and just overall a really good baby!
9 Month Stats
Weight: 19lbs 8.5oz - 50%
Height: 28"
Things Liam is loving and doing these days:
- We have introduced Liam to Puffs, the intro to finger foods! He is doing ok, not too sure about them yet, but getting the hang of it. He will grab it and try to get it in his mouth, missing half the time. But other times he takes it and chews it with his 4 front teeth, it's hilarious!
We are really struggling with finger foods and any food other than his pureed baby food. His gag reflex is awful, so he gags on EVERYTHING! The second it touches his mouth, he's gagging to the point of almost throwing up. This is a little frustrating, but hopefully he gets the hang of it soon.....
- Liam is learning to clap! He will clap his hands together and if I do it back, he watches and does it again. I know, not a huge deal - but it's pretty cute to me :)
- He is definitely starting to pull up, just to his knees right now. I can't believe this is happening so quickly after he started crawling! These milestones are REALLY running close together!! He reaches up for the coffee table, my pant leg, chairs, everything! He will be pulling and standing in no time!
- Learning to hold his own bottle! They have been practicing this at school, but we haven't really done it much at home. But this weekend, I put him in the Rock N Play with his bottle and he finished the whole thing on his own!
- Liam has learned to kiss :) If we ask him "can I have a kiss?" he comes straight to us with an open mouth, slobbery kiss! It's the cutest thing ever!
Here are a few pictures from the last month!
The weather has been incredible here this past month, so we took advantage of the first nice weekend and went to the park! Liam is so calm and observant when we go places. He gets really quiet and just looks and stares at everything. So he just laid back in his stroller taking it all in as we walked around the park. Then we put him in a swing for the first time and he just watched the ground move back and forth below him. That was the first weekend in a really long time that we had nice weather, we had such a great weekend. I didn't want it to end.
Liam's 1st Valentine's day! He even brought treats for his teachers at school :) His teachers are amazing! So loving, caring and are probably better at all of this than I am. They also recently asked me to be the infant room's Homeroom Mom, ha! Talk about making me feel old! But it was really nice of them to ask me.
Now that Liam is mobile, Maggie isn't too sure what to think about it. She has actually been 1000x better than I thought she would be - I even caught her trying to play with Liam by taking a toy and trying to get him to throw it! Thank goodness, I was SO worried about her once he started crawling.
Liam is also discovering EVERYTHING that's at floor level, like the dog food. It's constantly on the counter now, because it's the first thing he wants to go to when he is on the floor in the kitchen.
We have a hammock in our backyard and I put Liam in it one afternoon, he loved it!
We were lucky enough to have both sets of grandparents come visit us this month! Somehow I didn't get a picture of Liam and his Annie this trip!! Sorry Annie :( But we had a great time with everyone, had great weather and can't wait to see everyone again soon!!
